About
Control Room is a geopolitics newsroom that watches the world’s fault lines around the clock and tells you what just moved, question-first, without the noise.
We cover four desks: Conflict, Diplomacy, Breaking, and World. Every item is short on purpose. If a story needs more, the “Why it matters” box gives you the stakes in two paragraphs, not two thousand words.
How it works
Control Room is built on an automated pipeline with a human hand on the wheel. It runs in four steps:
Watch
We monitor trusted news wires and a set of vetted partner accounts for video, day and night.
Screen and write
Each item passes a safety filter before anything is made. Then it gets a clear headline and a plain-English caption in the Control Room voice.
Publish
The story goes out on our Facebook page and here on the site at the same time, cross-linked so the two stay in step.
Keep it honest
Fast-moving stories are labelled Developing until they settle. Corrections are welcome and acted on.
Developing vs Confirmed
Two labels do a lot of work on this site. Developing means a story is fast-moving and still unverified, so it may change. Confirmed means it is established and not in dispute. The label carries the caution so the writing can stay plain.
◆ A note on safety
A content filter runs before anything publishes. It blocks graphic and harmful material and lets ordinary news through. It is not perfect, but it runs on every single item, in every channel.
Find us on Facebook
The Facebook page and this site are the same newsroom, connected. Follow along there, and every clip on the site is the real public Facebook post, embedded.
Who runs it
Control Room is an independent project. For advertising, partnerships, press, or corrections, see the contact page.
